Design of Experiments

The client, a pharmaceutical process development and manufacturing  firm, wished to implement statistical design of experiments techniques in their R&D operations.  An evaluation of the features of some 30 different commercial and shareware software packages was carried out based on technical features, ease of use and availabilty of training and technical support.

A shortlist was prepared for further evaluation and demo copies were obtained from the respective manufacturers, case studies were generated using examples from some of the client's actual projects and a purchase recommendation was made.

As a complement to this project an evaluation of commercially available automated reactors suitable for process development was also carried out. The respective manufacturers were contacted and a literature database compiled. Shortlisted companies were invited to visit the client's premises to gave presentations and/or demos.
